what to expect

When you arrive for your first session, we will go over your intake form and have a chat about what you are looking for from this session, your health history, and any concerns or questions you may have. Most sessions combine a variety of ancient and modern healing practices to best suit your needs and goals. Being able to track your energy helps me guide you in gaining a clearer sense of what might be at the core of any physical, emotional, or energetic imbalances as well as which practices would best support you on that day.

Preparing for your session

Arrival

Please arrive on time so as not to cut your session short and to enjoy this time you have set aside for yourself. You will be charged for your full session time if you arrive late or do not honor the 24 hour cancellation policy. Please give as much notice as possible if there is a need to reschedule your appointment. Thank you in advance for respecting this request. I highly recommend showing up well hydrated and even bring water with you for after your session.

CranioSacral & Soul Medicine

At this time all offerings are held over Zoom. The methods used during in-person CranioSacral Therapy sessions are just as effective when performed remotely. You might wish to prepare yourself as if you were coming into the office by lying comfortably on a bed, the floor, or even better– outside on the Earth.

CranioSacral therapy is practiced fully clothed while lying on a massage table. It is best to wear comfortable clothing and avoid wearing a dress or skirt. I may need to work inside your mouth to access some of the smaller bones of the face and mouth. I use non-latex gloves and focus on clear communication with you so that you are comfortable with the experience. If you wear a dental appliance, it is best to remove it for this part of the treatment. Since CranioSacral therapy works with supporting the body’s natural self-healing mechanism, the effects of the session continue long after you get up off the table.

Each session varies according to the information your body, heart, and mind are sharing on that particular day. A variety of hands-on and no touch practices are used during the Soul Medicine sessions and may include guided meditation, movement, dialoguing, hands-on energy healing, shamanic journeywork, plant spirit medicine, and ceremony.

I call on our teams of unseen support and request that they provide their power, protection, and support during your session. You will be guided to allow yourself to receive, so this requires no extra effort on your end.

Self-care After a Session

Please allow some time to yourself after a session to integrate the work and soak up your experience. Because these modalities access stored emotions or trauma, you may feel emotions arise later that day or in the following days. I might give you practices to useĀ  after your session to help process this experience. After a treatment, you might feel a little sore, spaced out, energized, or slightly run down. Drinking extra water before and after your appointment helps keep your body hydrated and better able to flush out extra waste that has been released from the treatment. Taking an Epsom salt bath after your session is a nice way to detoxify and help ease any stored tension. I can also help you put together a self-care plan that you can start incorporating into your daily life.
